Vascular Surgeon Jobs in Connecticut

A Vascular Surgeon is a critical specialist within the medical field who is responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions related to the vascular system, which includes arteries, veins and lymphatic circulation. These experts perform surgeries to treat diseases such as peripheral artery disease, carotid artery disease, and aneurysms. They may also conduct minimally invasive procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, and endovascular thrombolysis. Vascular Surgeons play a pivotal role in the management of patients with vascular trauma and in the surgical treatment of diseases affecting the blood vessels, excluding the heart and brain.

They should be board-certified in General Surgery and have additional fellowship training in Vascular Surgery. Prior to becoming a Vascular Surgeon, an individual might work as a Medical Intern, Medical Resident, and Surgical Fellow. The pathway to this career requires extensive education and training, including medical school, a general surgery residency, and a vascular surgery fellowship.
