Physiatrists must have a Medical Degree (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, followed by a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Board certification in PM&R, issued by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, is highly recommended.
