Family Practitioner Jobs in Louisiana
A Family Practitioner, also known as a Family Physician, is a multi-disciplinary medical professional who provides comprehensive healthcare for individuals and families across all ages, genders, and diseases. Their key role in the medical industry involves diagnosing and treating various health conditions, performing routine check-ups, health-risk assessments, immunization, screening tests, and personalized counseling on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Prior to becoming a Family Practitioner, one may start their career in roles such as a Medical Intern or a Resident Physician. They should hold a medical degree (MD or DO) and have completed a three-year family medicine residency. Board certification by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) is also imperative.
